Electronic Labyrinth : : THX 1138 4EB (1967)

For those who haven’t seen this yet, it’s George Lucas’s student film that later got turned into his first full-length feature, THX 1138. It’s only about 15 minutes long but it has a lo-fi abstract quality that pushes it into the realms of art cinema. Francis Ford Coppola hired George right out of art school for this one. Once it was developed into a proper movie you can see Lucas’s cinematic language start to emerge. This work also carries some common themes that emerge again in some of his later works.
